Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police join Operation Soteria Bluestone
October 7, 2022
Operation Soteria Bluestone began with a pilot project at Avon and Somerset Police in early 2021 and was subsequently rolled out to the Durham Constabulary, Metropolitan Police Service, South Wales Police and West Midlands Police. The operation brings together opportunities for academic research, enhanced training for police officers and better victim engagement in order to improve the way the police repond to the reporting of rape and sexual crimes.
It is expected that the scheme will eventually be rolled out to all 43 police forces across England and Wales.
Forces participating in the expanded operation as of October 2022 include:
- Devon & Cornwall
- Dorset
- Dyfed-Powys
- Gloucestershire
- Greater Manchester
- Gwent
- Kent
- Lancashire
- Northumbria
- North Wales
- Sussex
- Warwickshire
- Wiltshire
